In order to be effective on glass collection and recycling, we recognise that each local context has its specificities and requires tailormade solutions. That it why Close the Glass Loop has taken a bottom-up approach, working with a network of National Platforms in 13 countries, each with the ambition to reach 90% glass collection for recycling in the EU by 2030. Each National Platform brings together all the organisations that are active locally in increasing and improving glass collection for recycling. Through this network effect, we aim to encourage exchange of best practice between National Platforms to achieve the highest impact locally. We also provide financial support to local projects that support glass collection and recycling.
